girl like me

There is a picture of me from a birthday party when I was 8. I am standing in the middle surrounded by pretty girls in their pretty dresses and nice hairdos. But how do I look like? Well I look excatly like the girl in this picture by Norman Rockwell. Rockwell famously illustrated the American dream but in a funny way. His work sometimes has even patriotic theme but I forgive him as his people are real.

Girl by Egon Schiele

There is something about Schieles skinny, lazy and luscious girls and boys that I cant resist! They are real and sexual, not sexy on a American fake tan way. This particular girl is laying carelesly and seems genuinly playfull and bit bored but on a mysterious way. She has this "bored" face that tells she is a muse of a famous artist but also famous on her own right.

sculpture by Scott Radke

I found the sulptor Scott Radke from Myspace like so many other interesting artists. I seem to be drawn to weird and funny creatures and he's work is full of those! I'm also obsessed with bunnies or should I say the shape of a bunny. Bunny is a really basic shape of nowdays world, all it requires is the bunny ears really, and everybody regonizes the shape. Bunny is
for animals what banana is for fruit, the well known and familiar celebrity.

animation that defined the whole generation of Finnish kids

This is a well known animation from my childhood. Every winter when the sea and the lakes started frozing they showed this warning animation in the end of the most famous kids program "Pikku Kakkonen". I loved it more than anything else on tv and couldn't wait till the end of the program. The animation is made by Finnish illustrator and animator Camilla Mickwitz. Her books were huge part of my chilhood too.
